Bi-Fold Shutters For Doors

Measuring For BiFold Frame

  • Inside mounts must have a jamb depth of at least 2″, or 3″ for flush mount. (Don’t forget handle projection, if any).
  • Outside mounts will project 3″ plus valance at top.
  • Inside mounts with enough jamb depth may be ordered without side frames.

1. Measure inside width in 3 places – top, middle, bottom.

2. Measure inside height in 3 places – left, middle, right.

3. For inside mounts use the smallest actual opening measurements. Do not subtract from tight measurements.  Factory will take proper deductions.

4. For outside mount: Use largest measurements and add 4-1/2″ to width and 3″ to height.

5. If mounting on top of existing trim (recommended), use largest measurements for width from outside edge to outside edge of trim and for height from floor to top of trim.

7. If mounting on wall next to existing trim, use largest measurements for width from outside edge to outside edge of trim and for height from floor to top of trim and add 4 1/2″ to width and 3″ to height.

8. Locate divider rails by measuring from floor up to the mid point of the desired location.

Definition: Mounting shutters recessed within the door opening is known as an “Inside Mount”. When mounted outside the door opening on the trim (if any) or directly on the wall, this is an “Outside Mount”.
