Understanding Shutter Pricing & How to Use Our Calculator
Here’s how to use our shutter calculator to ensure that you get the most accurate shutter quotes for your home.
Inside Mount To figure square footage:
- Measure the window width and height per the measuring instructions provided on this site.
- Add the frame size (see calculator) to the opening size for pricing, Not for ordering.
- For pricing purposes, round up fractions of an inch to the next full inch.
- Multiply the width x height = sq.inches and divide by 144 to get sq.feet.
- Then round up the result and multiply by $22.00 to get your standard cost.
Example:
- Window inside opening is 30 1/4 x 60 5/8.
- Using the Trim Frame, add 1 3/16″ to each side, if 4 sides frame.
- Size becomes 32 5/8″ x 63″.
- Round up to 33″ x 63″ = 2079 sq. inches.
- 2079 devided by 144 = 14.40 sq. ft.
- Round up to 15 sq. ft.
- 15 sq. ft x $22.00 = $330.00.
- Then add the surcharges, if any.
- Add Freight.
Outside Mount To figure square footage:
- Measure the window width and height per the measuring instructions provided on this site.
- These measurement should already include the frame.
- For pricing purposes, round up fractions of an inch to the next full inch.
- Multiply the width x height = square inches and divide by 144 to get square feet.
- Then round up the result and multiply by $22.00 to get your standard cost.
Example:
- Window is 34 1/2″wide x 46 1/4″ high.
- Round up to 35″ x 47″ = 1645 sq. inches.
- 1645 devided by 144 = 11.42 sq. ft.
- Round up to 12 sq. ft.
- 12 sq. ft. x $22.00 = $264.00.
- Then add the surcharges, if any.
- Add Freight.
Minimum size for pricing is 6 square feet (but order correct size.)
- If width is less than 24″, use 24″ for pricing purposes.
- If height is less than 36″, use 36″ for pricing purposes.
- 24″ x 36″ = 6 sq. ft.

Shutter Pricing by Style
Our standard shutter pricing is $22 per square foot for Vinyl Plantation Shutters: however, pricing may vary based on the overall style. There is no additional charge for louver sizes 2 ½”, 3 ½”, and 4 ½”. White, ivory, or almond shutters are also no additional charge. If you choose the traditional tilt bar in front, panel locks and magnets, divider rails, and T-posts, these features are also included at no additional cost. The standard ByPass, BiFold valances are no extra charge.
However, we do have additional surcharges for other options, including freight costs. The freight cost is $75 for the first shutter and $25 for each additional shutter. Double-hung shutters are $60, and extensions for an outside mount are $40 each. Add 10% for shutters with a casing frame or for Clearview shutters (with a rear tilt bar). All hidden tilts or gear are 15% additional, and stainless steel hinges are $5 more per panel. If you’re ordering shutters with French door cutouts, add $150, and it is $10 additional for each linear foot for the 5” deluxe valance for ByPass shutters. Extension poles are $55, and specialty shapes are $15 per linear inch in the largest direction. We also offer custom options for shutters with bypass and bi-fold track systems for closets and patio doors, but we ask that you call us for details and pricing on these products.
